Adult Carers

Carer Counselling Services

Caring for a family member or loved one can bring many rewards, but it can also have a significant impact on your emotional wellbeing. Feelings of stress, anxiety, exhaustion, grief, frustration, and isolation are common among carers and can often build up over time.

At North Staffs Carers, we have been providing counselling support to carers for over 10 years. Our experienced counselling team understands the unique challenges that can come with a caring role and offers a safe, confidential, and supportive environment where you can talk openly about your experiences.

Specialist Counselling for Adult Carers

We provide counselling and emotional support for carers aged 18 and over who may be experiencing difficulties related to their caring responsibilities.

You may benefit from counselling if you are experiencing:

  • Anxiety or persistent worry
  • Stress and emotional overwhelm
  • Depression or low mood
  • Carer burnout and exhaustion
  • Anticipatory grief
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Feelings of helplessness or isolation
  • Difficult emotions linked to your caring role

We recognise that every caring situation is different. Some carers experience challenges immediately, while others may struggle months or even years after taking on caring responsibilities. Whatever your circumstances, our counsellors are here to listen and support you.

A Safe and Confidential Space

Our counselling service provides a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly.

We understand that some aspects of caring can feel difficult to discuss with family members, friends, or professionals involved in the care of your loved one. Counselling offers an opportunity to speak freely with a trained professional who will listen, respect your experiences, and support you without judgement.

Counselling can help you:
